Portugal

Portugal D7 Visa

Who can apply: Non-EU or EEA citizen Visa cost: €180 Duration: 2 years

Minimum income: €705 per month To apply for a D7 visa in Portugal, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Provide evidence of passive income equal to or greater than the minimum salary required in Portugal (8,460€ per year)

  • Obtain a Portuguese NIF number, which is necessary for conducting business and financial activities in Portugal. This can be obtained at a Finance service center in Portugal.

  • Open a Portuguese bank account to access your funds and receive income. This requires obtaining a NIF number.

  • Reside in Portugal for a minimum of 16 months during the first two years in the country.

Required documents:


  • Valid passport: Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months after your D7 visa expires.

  • D7 Visa Application Form: Complete the D7 visa application form available on the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

  • Proof of Passive Income: Provide evidence of passive income such as bank statements, a work contract.

  • Proof of Accommodation.

  • Passport-sized photos: Submit two photos that meet the Schengen visa application photo requirements.

  • Cover letter: Write a cover letter that explains your reasons for staying in Portugal, your financial status, and other important information about your job.

  • Health Insurance: Get travel insurance that is valid in Portugal and covers up to €30,000 during the initial period of your stay.

  • Clean criminal record: Prove that you have a clean criminal record by obtaining a certificate from the competent authorities in your home country.
